MINOR  211 => 212 => 300-level surveys and topics  [5 courses in addition to first-year German] 

MAJOR  => Additional 300/400-level (including 304/307) => Senior Seminar  [8 courses]

German Studies (minor and major)

Focused both on German- and Germanic-language cultures (from the Vikings to today’s multicultural communities) and on the global impact of ideas and innovations coming from these cultures, some work in German language, critical text analysis, independent research linking to other disciplines.

MINOR:  115/6/7/or 8 class  & 2 additional cognate classes & 211 => 212  [5 courses in addition to 1st year German]

MAJOR:  306 & HIST 244/245 & 300-level class in German   => Senior Thesis [8 courses]
